[ARCHIVED] Governor's Order for Texas to Wear Face Coverings

Statement from the Taylor County Judge Downing Bolls Regarding the Use of Face Coverings

This afternoon, Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued Executive Order (GA-29) relating to the use of face coverings during the COVID-19 disaster. Taylor County has consistently incorporated the Governor’s executive orders into our local disaster declaration and will continue to do so.

Pursuant to the Taylor County Disaster Declaration dated March 26, 2020, GA-29 automatically amends the county’s disaster declaration to bring it into compliance with the Governor’s order without further Commissioners’ Court action.

As per the Governor’s Executive Order (GA-29), effective at 12:01 p.m. on July 3, 2020, every person in Texas shall wear a face covering over the nose and mouth when inside a commercial entity or other building or space open to the public, or when in an outdoor open space, wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household.”

We want to continue to work together to slow the spread, and want to be an example of good stewards by working together to make it happen.
