Male Correction Officer

 

Taylor County is currently seeking qualified applicants for Male Correctional Officer at the Taylor County Jail. All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must have the ability to work in a very stressful environment and have a good moral character.  This is SHIFT WORK.  Applicants must be in good physical shape and must pass a physical exam and drug screening prior to employment. Qualified applicants will also be subject to an extensive criminal history and background investigation.

 

Starting Salary:  $ 12.17 per hour + benefits

(health, dental life, retirement, vacation/sick leave)

Cook-Juvenile Detention Center

 

Taylor County is currently seeking qualified applicants for Cook in the Juvenile Detention Center. All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and must be at least 21 years of age. Job experience must be a minimum of 1 yard in food service, institutional food preparation, with related equipment.  Candidates should have a working knowledge of nutrition; prefer applicants with knowledge of National School Lunch/Breakfast requirements.  THIS IS (4) 10 HOUR SHIFTS AND THEN (3) DAYS OFF. Criminal history and background investigations will be conducted on all qualified applicants.

 

Starting Salary:  $ 7.67 per hour + benefits

Receptionist

 

Taylor County is currently seeking qualified applicants for Part Time Clerical Position at the Social Service Department. The work includes secretarial and clerical duties in addition to occasional receptionist responsibilities. All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Qualified applicants must have at least 6 months secretarial or clerical experience in an office environment. Prefer applicants with experience in social services casework and who are bilingual (Spanish is preferred). This is only 38 hours per week.

 

Starting Salary:  $ 7.50 per hour + benefits

(retirement)
